Rep. Nicole Macri visits ICHS International District clinic
Representative Nicole Macri (WA 43rd Legislative District) visited the International Community Health Services (ICHS) flagship clinic in the International District on September 20 to learn firsthand how ICHS’ Federally Qualified Health Center model of care serves communities.
Representing Washington state’s 43rd legislative district, covering parts of central and north Seattle, Rep. Macri also sits on the Washington State Legislature’s Health Care and Wellness Committee.
Her visit is part of her ongoing efforts to address health access for Washingtonians.
Health Center Manager Julia Shi introduced Rep. Macri to the different services that ICHS offered and how many staff roles play a part in ICHS’ integrated care model.
To reduce barriers, ICHS also offers enabling services at no charge, such as translation and interpretation as well as assistance in identifying eligibility for and enrolling in low-cost or free health insurance and other programs to address the social determinants of health barriers.
The Seattle World School Teen Health Center, a school-based health center offered by ICHS in partnership with Neighborhood House is located in Rep. Macri’s district.
The Seattle World School is a secondary school for newly arrived immigrant and refugee students located in Seattle's capitol hill neighborhood. the teen health center is open to all eligible Seattle Public School students and provides onsite medical care, dental care, and behavioral health services to students.
In 2021, over 2,500 ICHS patients lived in Rep. Macri's district.
