ICHS appoints Jeffery Gibbs, MD, MHA as chief health officer
International Community Health Services (ICHS) has hired Jeffrey Gibbs, MD, MHA, as Chief Health Officer. Dr. Gibbs will oversee clinical operations to ensure the continuous delivery of high quality patient care at ICHS’ 11 service sites in King County. He brings with him extensive health care leadership, and a deep commitment to ensuring that every patient receives care that is both compassionate and of the highest quality.
"Dr. Gibbs' background in community health, and decades of leadership directing quality improvement, will strengthen ICHS' integrated care as we provide high quality health care services to our communities," said Kelli Nomura, ICHS CEO. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and has focused his career on improving our healthcare system. I'm pleased to welcome him to ICHS."
Previously, Dr. Gibbs served as the Quality Improvement Medical Director at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers in the United States, serving primarily Medicaid patients and the uninsured. Before transitioning to full-time medical leadership, Dr. Gibbs dedicated two decades to practicing cardiology.
Dr. Gibbs earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. He later returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin to complete his cardiology fellowship. He is board-certified in internal medicine and continues to uphold this certification.
Dr. Gibbs is an alum of the University of Washington (UW), obtaining a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree in 2014.
