Mission
The Hepatitis B Coalition of Washington (HBCW) envisions a Washington state free of new hepatitis B infections, where all people know their HBV status, all HBV care provided is culturally competent, and HBV outcomes are equitable and disparities have been reduced.

HBCW is a network of health care professionals and community volunteers, health departments, community clinics and nonprofit organizations that collaborate to raise awareness and education about hepatitis B within at-risk communities, promote conduct screening and vaccination programs, and advocate for immunization. Any organization that serves the aforementioned communities can potentially join the coalition. Currently, 13 agencies make up the coalition.
Since 2013, ICHS has led the work of the coalition, which was created in 1997 and was formerly known as the Washington State Asian Pacific Islander Hepatitis B Task Force. HBCW works with community based organizations, community clinics, health care facilities and health departments to foster hepatitis B-related care through educational outreach, testing and improving linkage to care services.
The coalition meets virtually on the last Thursday of each month from 9:00-10:00 am at the ICHS International District Clinic, located at 720 8th Ave South Seattle WA 98104. In addition to the monthly meeting, members may be asked to attend a community forum that is held once a year.

Hep B United Commemorates World Hepatitis Day, July 28
Hep B United, a national coalition established by the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) to address the epidemic of hepatitis B, hosted its 11th annual summit in Washington, D.C., July 24-25, 2023. The summit brought together nearly 100 community leaders, advocates, clinicians, federal partners and people living with hepatitis B to discuss strategies and challenges towards eliminating hepatitis B in the U.S.
