Policy Advocacy
International Community Health Services (ICHS) advocates for programs, policies, and legislation that benefit the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and community. We monitor local, state and federal legislative activities that directly impact our work, and actively support policies that improve our patients’ access to quality health care and increase resources for community health centers. Click here to read about ICHS’ current public policy advocacy activities.We partner with various community organizations and coalitions to strengthen our voice on behalf of our patients and community. Our partners include:
· Chinese Information and Services Center (CISC),
· Asian Counseling and Referral Services (ACRS),
· Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of
· Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC),
· Association of Asian Pacific Health Organizations (AAPCHO), and
· National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)
ICHS also actively promotes civic participation among our staff and patients through voter registration activities, and by educating them about the policy issues that affect them. In 2008, ICHS registered nearly 70 new voters.
